OUR PURPOSE
Bush Veterinary Neurology Service (BVNS) Rascal Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a single purpose:
To advance the diagnostic testing and treatments of companion animals with neurological disease by supporting clinical research.
The BVNS Rascal Foundation was created by William Bush, VMD, a board-certified veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon and owner of Bush Veterinary Neurology Service, a referral practice with multiple locations, headquartered in Leesburg, Virginia.
RASCAL’S STORY
A very special patient named Rascal, who was treated for granulomatous meningoencephalomyelitis (GME) was the inspiration behind the name and logo. In 2006, Rascal was in severe pain and could barely walk when his owner brought him to see Dr. Bush. An MRI and CSF tap helped Dr. Bush make a rapid and accurate diagnosis. Within a few days of treatment, Rascal was already showing great improvement and today, he continues to experience an excellent quality of life.
